YANA\u2019s Education for All Scholarship Award Program, a project seeks to improve the educational opportunities of underprivileged children and youths in Cameroon, with particular focus on those living in the most vulnerable and marginalized communities. The project aims to reduce poverty, promote gender equality and empower the youth through quality education. The success of this program which relies primarily on donations and partnerships for its funding, is measured by the number of beneficiaries who are been given access to sound educational opportunities and the overall impact on the communities.
The program launched early on in 2022 was first implemented in Ngong, Tcheboa subdivision, Benoue division, North Cameroon. The program\u2019s launching which took place at African Dream Bilingual School Complex Ngong, was awesome as YANA put smiles on the faces of 20 underprivileged children within the Ngong community in Tcheboa Subdivision, offering them an opportunity to acquire sound education through its fully-funded scholarship plan.
The event was graced with the presence of the Divisional Officer of Tcheboa Subdivision, HRM Lamido of Tcheboa, the Ardos of Ngong and Rabingha, the Brigade Commander of the BIR and Gendarmerie, the Commissioner of Police, Principals and head teachers of public and private schools, among several others.
The scholarship award included cash and material awards including school bags, books and other writing materials. The 20 benefits consisted of 16 girls and 4 boys. Of the 20 children, three (03) were in nursery school (Kindergarten), twelve (12) in primary school and five (05) in secondary school (college).
Parents and beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for this opportunity and promised to work hard to achieve excellent results in school. The event closed with family photographs, and interviews with the beneficiaries and their parents who expressed their profound gratitude to YANA and partners for giving them the opportunity to attend school this year.
During an interview with the representative of HRM Lamido of Tcheboa, Sarki Sanou, expressed gratitude towards the benefactors through YANA for making a difference in the lives of their children through education and for bringing joy to the subdivision through the scholarship award.
