YANA’s Academic and Career Orientation Program is a program designed to provide secondary school students with insights into various academic pathways and career opportunities. The goal is to empower students to make informed decisions about their future by exploring their interests, strengths, and potential career trajectories.
This campaign is essential and a timely intervention because it equips students with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed decisions about their future. Secondary and High school is a critical period where students begin to explore their interests, strengths, and potential career paths. Without proper guidance, many students may feel overwhelmed by the vast array of options available to them or may lack the confidence to pursue their aspirations. Such a campaign helps students understand the connection between their education and career goals, introduces them to various career opportunities, and provides clarity on the steps required to achieve their ambitions.
The program aimed to;
1. Introduce students to academic and career options aligned with their interests and skills.
2. Provide guidance on educational pathways, including college, vocational training, and certifications.
3. Inspire students through the success stories of professionals from various fields.
4. Equip students with tools and resources for career exploration and planning.
During the program, our team made visits to Kingston Memorial Comprehensive College Bokwango in Buea and Sure Foundation in Tiko.
The visits featured interactive career workshops where the students explored various career paths, from traditional professions to emerging fields like technology and entrepreneurship.
Our team of experts provided guidance to participants, helping them to identify their passions and aligning them with achievable career goals and offered expert guidance by sharing past experiences and practical advice on navigating academic and career challenges.
The event was a huge success, with over 800 enthusiastic students participating! Many left with newfound clarity about their future and a roadmap for success.
