YANA Widows Outreach Program 2024

YANA’s Widows Outreach Project is an annual humanitarian project that offers assistance and advocates for zero hunger by donating vital food items and basic supplies as palliatives to vulnerable widows, victims of natural disasters and armed conflicts in the Northwest and Southwest regions of Cameroon, seeking refuge in Buea (Southwest Cameroon).

Objectives:

  • Provide underprivileged widows in crisis-hit communities in Buea, southwest region of Cameroon, with vital food items and free consultations and tests for non-communicable diseases particularly hypertension and diabetes.
  • Advocate for zero hunger within our communities
  • Provide relief and support
  • Promote community resilience and social cohesion

Outcomes:

  • Provided food items to over 500+ widows and orphans in Buea and its environs.
  • Widows and orphans received essential food items fostering food security.
  • Increased self-esteem and solidarity amongst widows and orphans.
  • Conducted tests for diabetes and hypertension on over 300+ widows
