Meet Tiku Lydia Arong, a committed volunteer and advocate for gender equality and women’s empowerment who dedicates her efforts to advancing opportunities and fostering inclusive environments for women in various spheres. Tiku Lydia Arong brings a wealth of experience and passion to her role as the women and gender lead at YANA. With a background in community organisation and social work, she has been fully involved in initiatives that promote inclusivity and equity and has worked with diverse communities to address issues related to women. She was actively involved in the organization and realization of the widow’s outreach program that brought together over 500 women and also actively participates in our menstrual health campaigns that have educated over 250 adolescent girls and young women in the Buea municipality of the Southwest Region of Cameroon on menstrual health and sustainable hygienic practices.
Tiku Lydia Arong holds a Bachelors degree in International Relations from the University of Buea. In her role as a Women and Gender Lead, she spearheads initiatives aimed at promoting gender equity within our organization and beyond.
She believes in the power of collaboration and education to drive meaningful change, and is dedicated to building strong partnerships with communities, organizations, businesses and policymakers to further our mission of achieving gender justice and equality.
